A KITCHEN INTERLUDE

BBQ 1
Yesterday, t'was raining cats and dogs
And I had nothing to do but linked on the tube.
I was restless with nowhere to go...........
So I faced the hearth and made some broth.
Chef
I made some rice with so many things:
carrots, mushrooms, and some white chicken.
I then placed some broth, and sprinkled seasonings....
So what do I get?
Brewing
Lo and behold!
I had TAKIKOMI GOHAN that is full n filling!

INUTIL in Malacanang

kaaway?
INUTIL itong huwad na pang-ulo!
Ulo ng kurakot!
Ambisyosa masyado
at walang kakurap-kurap
na magsabing
pinili siya ng Diyos?
Kapal!

PALOMA KILLS

One of the water heaters manufactured by Paloma Industries Ltd.,
whose devices have been blamed for a series of fatal carbon monoxide poisonings,
produced lethal concentrations of CO in less than three minutes during a re-creation by the Metropolitan Police Department last Wednesday.
.

The experiment reenacted a fatal accident in Akasaka in Minato Ward, Tokyo,
in March 1996, using the water heater from the apartment.
.

The MPD re-creation is part of an investigation to establish a case of professional negligence resulting in death, and investigators are also questioning executives
from Paloma Industries and Paloma Co., which sells the heaters,
to see to what extent they recognized the danger of CO poisoning from their product.
.
In the Akasaka case, in which Atsushi , 21, was found dead in a studio apartment in March 1996,.
The Tokyo Medical Examiner's Office found an 82.18 percent CO density in his blood
--CO concentrations greater than 70 percent are generally lethal.

LOGISTICS

Excerpts from International News:
~~~
"The conflict has forced around 100,000 Lebaneseto flee their homes and many
foreigners to escape the country.Nine U.S. warships were set to evacuate more
than 2,400 U.S. citizensby air and sea on Wednesday, the first big group of up
to 8,000 the Pentagon expects to bring out.Britain said it had six ships in the
region to start moving its citizens,with around 5,000 to be evacuated this week.
A Royal Navy warship with 170 British evacuees on board arrived at Limassol in
Cyprus on Wednesday.Other nations mustered boats and planes to rescue
citizensstranded by the bombing of Beirut's airport and dozens of roadsand
bridges in an Israeli campaign that began after Hizbollahcaptured two Israeli
soldiers in a border attack on July 12."
~~~

The US has NINE warships to evacuate less than 10,000 citizens!
...............while Britain has SIX ships for its 5,000 nationals.
ASAN ang plano ng Pinas?

Transcript: Bush and Blair's unguarded chat

The conversation

A transcript of the off-the-cuff conversation between US President George W Bush and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair during a break at the G8 conference in Russia.
The president was caught on tape using an expletive as he described the actions of Hezbollah in attacking Israel.
The two men start by discussing an exchange of gifts:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bush: And thanks for the sweaters - I know you picked em out yourself...
Blair: Oh yes absolutely - in fact I knitted it!!!
(laughter)
Bush: What about Kofi Annan - he seems all right. I don't like his ceasefire plan. His attitude is basically ceasefire and everything sorts out.... But I think...
Blair: Yeah the only thing I think is really difficult is that we can't stop this without getting international presence agreed. I think what you guys have talked about which is the criticism of the [inaudible word]. I am perfectly happy to try and see what the lie of the land is, but you need that done quickly because otherwise it will spiral.
Bush: Yeah I think Condi's [US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice] gonna go soon.
Blair: Well that's all that matters but if you... You see at least it gets it going.
Bush: I agree it's a process...I told her your offer too.
Blair: Well it's only if she needs the ground prepared as it were. If she goes out she HAS to succeed whereas I can just go and...
Bush: You see the irony is what they need to is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it's all over...
Blair: Dunno... Syria....
Bush: Why?
Blair: Because I think this is all part of the same thing...
Bush: (with mouth full of bread) Yeah
Blair: Look - what does he think? He thinks if Lebanon turns out fine. If you get a solution in Israel and Palestine. Iraq goes in the right way
Bush: Yeah - he's [indistinct]
Blair: Yeah.... He's had it. That's what all this is about - it's the same with Iran
Bush: I felt like telling Kofi to call, to get on the phone to Assad and make something happen.
Blair: Yeah
Bush: [indistinct] blaming Israel and [indistinct] blaming the Lebanese government....
AT SILA AY NALAGYAN!
Isang araw,
Nag-DINNER and WINE
ang mga Obispo.....
Drink Wine
And then, something happened:
Electric
Huwag mong sabihing hindi alam ng mga Obispo
na "lagay" ang nakalagay sa mga envelope na inilagay
sa kanilang mga bulsa
habang naglilibot itong taga-Malacanang?
Ganun ba sila ka-naive?
I wonder.....
Meron ding nagsabi na ::::
"akala ko eh transportation allowance"....
Meron ding nagsabi na:
"walang masama dun..."
Caveman
marahil dahil sa normal lang na tumatanggap
sila ng envelope kapag nag-o-officiate ng MISA?
Tell me, please.....
Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit
ang ating kaparian eh
mga mukhang pera!
HUDAS tell such lies?
Ang dami nang lumabas na balita tungkol
sa pagkaka-detain sa LA ni "Joc-joc Bolante,
ang kaibigan ng Fatsong bluebird na asawa ni gng. glue pidal.
Pero ang nakakatawa eh yung sinabi ni
Asuque na "kaya hindi agad na-i-relay ang balita
tungkol sa pagkakahuli ni Bolante eh, sa dahil nangyari yun
nang weekend at walng staff sa Embahada."
Lumalabas kasi na nagkaroon ng ilang araw
na gap bago nalaman ng Bayan na
nahuli na pala itong si Bolante.
Pinabulaanan naman ng UNIFFORS,
siang asosasyon ng mga nagtratrabaho sa DFA
na meron silang skeleton staff kapag weekends and holidays....
Ngayon, sino ang paniniwalaan ko?
Aba'y higit na nakakaangat naman ang UNIFFORS
sapagkat wala silang takot na pabulaanan ang sinabi ni Asuque.
May gudness naman yu!
HUDAS tell a lie must
go down as soon as possible!
PERSPECTIVE
One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country
with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of
what would be considered a very poor family.
~
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son,
="How was the trip?"
-”It was great, Dad."
="Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
-"Oh yeah," said the son.
="So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and
they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and
they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and
they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and
they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us,
but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us,
they have friends to protect them."
~~
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."
~~~
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing?
Makes you wonder what would happen if we all give thanks for everything we have,
instead of worrying about what we don't have.
Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!
Let us all refresh OUR perspective and appreciation.

Thoughts to Ponder

"People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in,
their true beauty is revealed only
if there is a light from within."

TANABATA FESTIVAL

TANABATA
......also known as the "star festival ・!
>takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year,
when, according to a Chinese legend,
the two stars Altair and Vega,
which are usually separated from each other by the milky way,
are able to meet.
Japanese Umbrella
Because the 7th month of the year roughly coincides with August
rather than July according to the formerly used lunar calendar,
Tanabata is still celebrated on August 7th in some regions of Japan,
while it is celebrated on July 7th in other regions.
One popular Tanabata custom is to write one's wishes on a piece of paper,
and hang that piece of paper on a specially erected bamboo tree,
in the hope that the wishes become true.
Love Letter
Colorful Tanabata festivals are held across Japan
in early July and August.
Among the biggest and most famous ones are the
Tanabata Festivals of Sendai in August and
Hiratsuka near Tokyo in July.
~
Today is TANABATA Day.....
and I wish, I wish.......

SAYANG!

It was a good day yesterday:
I was able to finish all my laundry early and
was preparing for that SHIKOKU trip [cameras and all...]
when Jiji called to sayI can't go with him.
Sad
He will go to that small islandwith four Prefectures
[hence the name SHIKOKU]via KOBE
and asked me to go with him.
Para naman makita ko yung isla na yun....
I have been to all of HONSHU and KYUSHU,
but never in HOKKAIDO and SHIKOKU.
It has been raining since last week, and
most of the rains are now concentrated in Southern Japan,
and Shikoku is covered....along with Southern KYUSHU.
Kaya ayun, cancelled na kasama ako.
Mahirap daw na hindi sigurado ang travel time...
Baka magka-problema, mainip lang ako....
Besides, meron akong turo sa Sabado,and
he isn't sure kung makakuwi sa Sabado.
So there!
Duh
Sayang!

Not a Joke!

Apparently, this is not the first time that
North Korea launched its missile.....
~
In August of 1998, NoKor
launched its first TAEPODONG
and landed on the Pacific Ocean,
near Miyagi-Ken,
in the Northwest HONSHU,
the biggest and main island of Japan.
~
While the 7 missiles launched today landed in
the Sea of Japan, just several kilometers away from
Mainland China,
the first one reached beyond the
main island of Japan.
~
Overall, North Korea must be
stopped by all means....
Launching eight missiles ,
seven of which, in one day
is no laughing matter.
This is not a joke!
~

NAKAKATAKOT!

Nakakatakot talaga itong aksyon ng North Korea....
Aba'y kaninang umaga,
anim na ang ni-launch na missiles
ng Bansang ito.
Lahat ay bumagsak sa
Sea of Japan, ilang daang kilometro
lamang ang layo sa Bansang Hapon.
Ang isa rito ay TAEPODONG2
na sinasabing may kakayahang
makarating hanggang Amerika.
Nagpalabas pa ng pampitong
missile ang mga NoKor
ilang minuto nakalipas ang tanghali.
Bumagsak din ito sa Sea of Japan.
Ano ba ito?
Show of force ng NoKor laban sa Amerika
at sa mga Bansang kaalyado nito?
Ang nakakatakot, eh,
malapit ang tirahan ko sa
isang Air Force Base ng Japan sa Hamamatsu,
Shizuoka-ken.
Napakawalanghiya nitong
si Kim Jong il:
hindi naman kapaki-pakinabang ang
kanyang rehimen sa kanilang Bansa,
bagkus, diktaduryang walang inisip
kundi magpahirap ng Koreano
at mga Hapon.
Napakarami ng dinukot ng Koreano,
lalo na noong rehimen ng ama nitong
kasalukuyang diktador.
Maraming Hapon at Koreano
ang dinukot at sapilitang pinagturo ng
NoKor para sa kanilang programa sa espionage.

SEVERE MEASURES

must be taken against Kita Chosen.......

The Japanese government have been treating these people

Just now, the government has suspended for 6 months
