BALIW na KITA CHOSEN!

Baliw talaga itong KITA CHOSEN!
Nagpalabas ng missiles,
at pang-anim na
as of Wednesday morning,
July 5, JST.
For those who do not know,
the Japanese refer to the NORTH KOREANS
as KITA CHOSEN.
ALL of the missiles
landed at the Sea of Japan....
the nearest being some kilometers away from HOKKAIDO,
the northernmost island of Japan.
The missiles reached
600 kilometers....
and can be seen
as they drop from the seashores
of Niigata, and other Prefectures
along the Sea of Japan.
This regime of Kim Jong Il
has the nerve!
They can't even feed properly its
citizens, yet,
they spend time and money to
finance nuclear technology!
Washington analysts say that
the move to fire these missiles
on the Fourth of July
is a message to gain leverage against the US
on talks about neclear disarmament.
We condemn these provocative acts of
North Korea!

Kiss That One Good-Bye!

BEATLEMANIA in Japan.....

....still alive?
O, W0W!
Geisha
Forty years hence, Japanese fans [those in their 50s-60s]
still reel from the fad that swept the world in the 60s.
I know....Jiji [who was in his 30s then]
watched with awe as documentaries filled the tube this past week.
The old film showed the Beatles from the time they stepped out of the JAL plane
that brought them here, to the time they left.
Even the HAPI coats the Fav 4 wore were on display
at TV programs commemorating their visit.
They were on loan from the John Lennon collection, I believe.
One can see how important these collections are,
by the way they handle these: they use gloves!
OLD film clips of the Budokan Hall show were shown
and how security was done was discussed in detail by
the former Police Chief in-charge of their protection.

STEAK, for a change!

I was preparing to leave the house to go shopping when out of the blue,
Jiji suggested we eat outside.
He wanted to eat Beef for a change, he said.
I like that!
Siyempre, payag agad ako, noh!
So we took off.
I was on the wheels, and using my car.[Although all cars belong to him, alright!]
He suggested we go to SAWAYAKA,a family resto.
I suggested we buy good KOBE beef, and dine at home, instead.
I explained that restaurants here now use Aussie Beef
and not home-grown beef.
On that line of thought, he agreed.
So off we went to my favorite Supermarket.
We looked for some home-grown beef and found the last two- 250 gms. each.
I took some fresh mushrooms, broccoli, and carrots.
I put in a small bottle of Steak Sauce with DAIKON OROSHI[grated raddish].
Along the way, I saw Jiji get some SHOCHU[alak yan, 'to!]
while I filled my basket with my usual juice and some fresh milk.
Going back home........
I prepared the grills
and, of course, the steak at minasahe ko muna sila,
para maging masarap kuno, [according to Aling Bening, Nanay's long-time Cook].
BBQ
Jiji was all praises, and gobbled 'em all up.
Drink Wine
He likes his Steak medium rare,
while mine was well-done.
I took time savoring the juicy home-grown beef....Hmmmm....

POWER IS NOT PERMANENT

In fact, nothing is!
Everything is prone to change,
even the heart of some...
who traipse and play!
Funny how some people look at the world on the material plane.
How can such things happen?
I know, I know.....
Something in their youth have made them the way they are now....
Oftentimes, I wonder how greed for power can manipulate and ruin a person....
Some even claim it is mannafrom heaven!
What!?
Caveman
....and proclaiming that she is God's gift to mankind is unthinkable in polite society!
But, as wise men say,
"Nasa huli ang pagsisisi...."
Isn't it time...... to sit down,
think of things that was, and make amends,
before it is too late?
There is always time to TRULY make amends
and HONESTLY say you're sorry.
Just call it quits, NOW NA!....
OK?

THE WINDS OF GOD

Grabe ang hihip ng hangin...
nakakalula!
Ganun naman talaga sa parteng ito....
Reminds me of Puget Sound: always misty, always cold.
*
ENSHU area in the TOKAI REGION is known for its gusty winds.
It is located near the sea, which makes the place great for surfers.
The trouble is, I don't surf.
But I love to watch the surfers fight their way and be in harmony with the waves.
It's as if the wind and the waves work together and push the surfers all towards the beach.....
**
ON Sundays and holidays, winter or summer days...
the seaside is filled with surfers and sailboats of all kinds.
These days, the shores are filled with sunbathers of all sizes, mostly Brazilians.
The Japanese will fill 'em, all upcome summer break, I suspect.
***
Ahhh...the cold winds fill me with unknown energy
as I walk barefoot on the sands.
Too early for a dip but quite invigorating to savor the force these winds bring.
It's as if
THE WINDS OF GOD is with me....

*BTW, I saw the movie with the same title [The Winds of God] two nights ago.

LIVING WITH NATURE

I woke up to the sound of rain as it touched the roof....
But I was lulled to sleep again sooner than I thought.
Later, as dawn breaks [quite early these days!]
I heard the croaking frogs from afar.
*
I live in between the rice fields, on three sides....
and the truck garage on the other.
Beyond the horizon is the TEIBO [levee/embankment]
that separates this village from TENRYUGAWA [TenryuRiver].
**
Thus, the sound of frogs is a daily dose, especially during rainy days.
Added to that, SUZUME [Swallows] abound and
stay under the trees that separates our home from the neighbor's.
Listening to these make my day!
Sometimes, I tie overripe Bananas[or any other fruit available]
on some branch and see the birds go and take their pick....
***
But one thing I do not welcome isthe presence of spiders.
While they catch flies and mosquitoes with their presence
[for which I am grateful],
I am bothered by their webs that crisscross my path as I go about my domain.
Sometimes, the webs are so complicated that it becomes difficult to clear them.
****
Besides, I don't see myself living happily in some Condos on a high-rise building.
I would terribly miss my garden, for one.
*****
Overall, I believe
LIFE IS WONDERFUL!
Don't you?

SOMETIMES

Love Letter
Sometimes,
We must be hurt in order to grow,
We must fail in order to know,
We must lose in order to gain.
Some Lessons are learned best only through pain.
SOMETIMES...
Our vision clears only after our eyes are washed with tears.
We have to be broken, so we can be tender,
We are sick so we can rest and think better
on things more important than work or fun,
We are taken for trip near death, so we can assess how we've run.
SOMETIMES...
We have to suffer lack, so we can know God's provision,
We have to feel another's pain, so we can have a sense of mission.
So take heart, if you don't understand today,
Instead of grumbling, ask God what He means to say,
In order to learn you must endure,
and learn to see the bigger picture.
In order to grow, you must stand and look beyond the hurt,
Trust in God's loving hand that takes what is Good,
and gives what is best,
And on this blessed thought,
rest your anxious heart with all the questions,
God's hand only gives what his loving heart dictates,
Hear Ye
SOMETIMES...The Lord calms the storm,
SOMETIMES... He lets the storm rage... and calms His child...
Better go through the storm with Him,
Than smooth waters without Him...

H0~H0~H0~

A Chinese walks into a bar in America late one night and he saw Steven Spielberg.
As he was a great fan of his movies, he rushes over to him, and asks for his autograph.
Instead, Spielberg gives him a slap and says,
"You Chinese people bombed our Pearl Harbor, get outta here!!"
The astonished Chinese man replied,
"It was not the Chinese who bombed your Pearl Harbor,it was the Japanese".
"Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, you're all the same," replied Spielberg.
In return, the Chinese gives Spielberg a slap and says,
"You sank the Titanic, my forefathers were on that ship."
Shocked, Spielberg replies,"It was the iceberg that sank the ship, not me."
The Chinese replies, "Iceberg, Spielberg, Carlsberg, you're all the same."

ADVICE FOR WOMEN

No harm intended for men reading this blog...

1. Don't imagine you can change a man --unless he's in diapers.

2. What do you do if your boyfriend walks-out?
You shut the door.

3. If they put a man on the moon --
-- they should be able to put them all up there.

4. Never let your man's mind wander --
-- it's too little to be out alone.

5. Go for younger men.
You might as well,--they never mature anyway.

6. Men are all the same -- they just have different faces,
-- so that you can tell them apart.

7. Definition of a bachelor: a man who has missed the opportunity
to make some woman miserable.

8. Women don't make fools of men --
--most of them are the do-it-yourself types.

9. Best way to get a man to do something,--
is to suggest they are too old for it.

10. Love is blind, but marriage is a real eye-opener.

11. If you want a committed man,
--look in a mental hospital.

12. If he asks what sort of books you're interested in,
--tell him checkbooks.

13. Remember a sense of humor does not mean
that you tell him jokes, --it means that you laugh at his.

14. Sadly, all men are created equal.

HA~HA~HA!

*****I love it! hope You'll love it too!*****

Before, hinahabol kita pero di mo ako pinapansin.
Tapos isang araw nawala ako, hinanap mo ako at tinanong,
***
I fell in love and got hurt but I didn't shed too much tears
nor did I ask them to love me again.
Instead, I stood up proudly and said,
"Ganyan talaga ang maganda at guapo!
Hindi bagay sa tanga!"
****
Simple lang para hindi ka masaktan.
Kapag minahal ka, mahalin mo din.
Kapag ginago ka, gaguhin mo rin.
Pero kapag umiyak ka, tanga ka!
Ginago ka na nga, iiyakan mo pa?
*****
Pag iniwan ka ng mahal mo, wag mo siyang sisihin!
Kausapin mo siya ng harap-harapan at sabihin mong,
"Ingat, tanga ka pa naman!"
******
Masakit pag iniwan ka ng mahal mo.
Pero wag kang magagalit ng husto.
Kahit papano may pinagsamahan naman kayo, diba?
Kaya for the last time yakapin mo siya at ibulong mo,
"Ga-Go, kukulamin kita!"
*******
Blah Blah Blah
Girls, talo daw kayo sa mga boys?
Papayag kayo?
Sige, pag niligawan kayo, sagot agad.
Pag iniwan kayo? Ok lang.
Kapag sinabi nilang, "Uy, ex ko."
Alam niyo sagot diyan? "Ay, ambisyoso."
********
If the one you love doesn't love you back, don't get depressed.
Just think about it for a while, maybe cry a bit
then wipe your tears and say
"Ang weird naman niya.Di siya pumapatol sa magaganda!"
You only got one life
so live it well...
one heart so take good care,
one soul so keep it pure.
One boyfriend?
What a waste!
Make it two or more!
ngeek
Sayang ganda nyo!
ha ha ha
Pag sinabi sayo ng mahal mo na ayaw na niya sayo,
hayaan mo lang.
Wag kang iiyak at magpapakagago!
Imbis na iyakan mo siya, ngitian mo lang at sabihin mo ang ganito,
"So, pano? Bye na! Naghihintay na ang kapalit mo!"
Who cares about break-ups?
Oo nga, masakit. Makirot sa puso.
Pero tandaan mo: a break-up isn't only an end to a relationship.
It's also a beginning of a new one
and an end to a living hell called "ex".

TIGERS ARE BEAUTIFUL!

Tigers are treasured by Orientals,
especially the Yellow Race.
*
Some people are also considered Tigers,in their own ways...
The TAIPANs in our midst may be considered Tigers:
they know how to control those around them....
They become bad only when they become greedy and manipulating.....
**
Most of the Tigers in our midst are people who make a difference in society.
Take Jackie Chan:
He is not only a skilled martial arts practitioner,
he can also make a scene as beautifully executed
as well as make the audience laugh.
He is considered a successful hero in his own right.
He has made contributions in his native place:
on disasters, training of youths, and more...
News have it that he has decided to bequeath half of his millions to Charity.
He has made his mark, so to speak....
***
Tatay was a Tiger also.
Not only was he named after the Tiger....
he also was sleek and agile in his youth.
He has accomplished, in his short lifetime,
things which the locals have not.
****
Ahhh I miss the Tigers in our times....
.Tigers who can contribute to society......
not just claim something they did not do.

Am looking for Tigers

HOW TO CONTROL EMOTIONS

This would give you guides on how to control your emotions
towards your better-half, friends, officemates and
all the people around you, especially your "boss ".

The rules of practicing " ugaling langit, ugaling kaaya-aya" :

#1. Ang naunang magalit ang may karapatang magalit.Pag naunahan ka na ng galit niya, tumahimik ka na lang muna.

#2 Walang taong nag-aaway mag-isa. Pag hindi kayo sumagot o pumatol, titigil din daw ang taong nakikipag- away sa inyo.

#3 Ang taong galit, 'bingi.' If someone is angry, wala raw pinakikinggan, so, don't try to explain and fight back. Hindi ka niya iintindihin dahil wala siyang naririnig kundi ang sarili nya.

#4 Ang taong galit, 'abnoy.' Ayon sa pastor, Biblical daw ito? ...because the Lord said when He was crucified, "Ama ko, patawarin mo sila dahil hindi nila alam ang kanilang ginagawa."

Modern term for these kinds of people are abnoys, so you better not get angry para huwag kang matawag na abnoy. You should also know and realize that the persons who make your day bad are jewels, because you need them for you to mature. Hangga't andyan daw sila at kinaiinisan mo,ibig sabihin, immature ka pa. God will not take away those people; it's for you to take away your bad feelings towards them. You'll know na mature ka na pag dumating 'yung time na hindi ka na naiinis sa mga taong ito because you have learned to accept them and to have patience with them.

#5 Finally, the best part of this is to tell yourself na, because of this person, "I will grow mature," and that

.........DAHIL SA CONTRIBUTION NIYA SA MATURITY MO,

KUKUNIN DIN SYA NI LORD.

mwa-ha-ha!!

It's GOOD to be a VIRGINian

Subject: Abu Musab al Zarqawi

When Abu Musab al Zarqawi was killed in Iraq by
American forces, George Washington met him at The Pearly Gates.

He slapped him across the face and yelled,
"How dare you fight against the nation I helped conceive."

Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted,
"You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!"

James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said,
"This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!"

Thomas Jefferson was next, beat Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled,
"It was evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence."

The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe
and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist leader.

As Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared.
Zarqawi wept and said, "This is not what you promised me."

The Angel replied, "I told you there would be 72 Virginians
waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?"

FIREMAN-FOR-A-YEAR

YESTERDAY,
as I was driving along the embankment
that guards the town from the TENRYUGAWA,
I saw some fire trucks parked along the wide ground from the river.
There were firemen in uniform and were busy doing something that,
to me, seems to be some sort of training.
I have seen this scene before and I have always wondered.....
I asked Hiroko and so went some explanation on the why's.....
It is like this:
Young men, whose age range from 20-35 MUST undergo one-year training
with the Fire Department of their hometown.
The same Law applies in all Japan.
WHY the 20-35 age range?
Kasi nga, mas mabilis kumilos at full of energy pa ang nasa ganitong edad.
Anything goes, sabi nga nila.
**
Take, for example, TOMOAKI, a good friend.
He is 32 y/o and has made himself available for the one-year training in his town.
He reports every Sunday or...when the Training Officer [a real fireman, himself]says so.
He undergoes the training and must finish it till the year is over.
He receives little remuneration:some cash that could easily go to
his gasoline use in going to-and -from training.
***
All other expenses and activities are covered by the Fund
given to Fire Department from the National Budget
plusthe special fund alloted by the Municipality/Citythey belong to.
They party twice a year: during the end of their training and
during BONENKAI[end-of the yearThanksgiving Party].
All these are free.
Other than that, they receivenothing more than the uniform they wear while in training.
****
IF there is a big fire raging on, these trainees must report to the fire area.
Firemen use the paging system installed in strategic places that covers the entire city.
Trainees report as soon as they receive the information anytime of the day
or even at night.
In case they are working,or during working hours....
their Companies allow them to leave their posts.
They only return to their work as soon as the fire has been contained.
The idea is to help preserve, protect their hometown.
*****
Can't help but think, though:lucky are those whose work bring them to other areas....
as in the case of SHINJI,someone I know.
He works for a Transpo Company and his work
takes him to far-places like Tokyo and Osaka.
******
I think the idea for the youth to serve their respective towns/cities
is a noble idea.
Don't you?

FANatics!

Funny how FANS can easily become FANatics!
Do you know that these fans go attend the Games
JUST to cheer their TEAMS?
...and that they just get a lil sleep inside the airplanes?
You see, they use Travel Packages which include:
RT tickets bus-limousine-service to-and -from the Stadium.
They eat while on board the bus/airplanes.
They go straight to the Stadium from the airport...
They stay at the Stadium until they are picked up again
by their bus going back to the airport.
Most go straight back to work after their sojourns...
Most say it's worth it.
FANatics, indeed!
.

TALO!

WORLD CUP: TALO NA!
Waaaahhhh!!Japan lost to Brazil 1-4!
But of course!
Ang galing ng mga Braziliero, anoh!?
My sleep was bothered by the TV screen which I left on till I drifted to light slumber...
My eyelids were drooping, I know....
but I can't help wait and know the result
ASAP!
My favorite player among the Blue Samurais is Nakata....
Wala na yatang oil sa katawan ang taong ito
sa katatakbo sa field!
But I like his style,
and the way he has adapted in Europe where he plays professionally.
Japan scored a goal first,
but later when the score became one-sided,I turned it off and was a bit sad....
Brazil is the defending World Cup Champions,
but of course!
Natural lang na magagaling sila.
The Land which produced PELE has made millionaires
out of these new breed of players....
TSURAI dake... MAKETTA'N DAMO!
Masakit, Kuya Eddie....
TALO, eh!

HELLO, ASS HOLE!

After numerous rounds of "We don't even know if Osama is still alive,"
Osama bin Laden himself decided to send George Bush
a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in the game.
Bush opened the letter
and it appeared to contain a single line of a coded message:
370H-SSV-0773H
*
Bush was baffled, so he e-mailed it to Condoleezza Rice.
Condi and her aides had not a clue either,
so they sent it to the FBI.
*
No one could solve it at the FBI so it went to the CIA,
then to the NSA.
*
Eventually, they asked Britain's MI-6 for help.
Within a minute
MI-6 cabled the White House with this reply:
*
"Tell the President he's holding the message upside down."

SOME SIDE-TRIP to Apalit

OOOPPPSSS!!!
I almost forgot! I was able to go to APALIT, PAMPANGA
to visit a long-time Friend na doon nakatira.
I went there twice, actually:
Noong una, we just stayed for the day,
and went back home later.
Second time we stayed overnight.
I wanna see and feel the place, sana...
in case some Japanese students want to go with me next Bakasyon ko.
You see, I need an alternative plan/place
para nmn hindi puro nasa Metro sila, ano.
I need a typical Pinoy-style scenery... sana...
At least, Pampanga is nearer than Baguio.
Some of my Visitas are weary of long road travel, that's why.
Eh mas maganda [for me naman, noh!]
to travel by road to the City of Pines
than air travel....
I love to stop and look over those TIENDAs along the highway,
that's why!

WHITEY

Thanks for being with us for more years than we can imagine.
Thanks for being soft when we are there;
Thanks for being harsh to those who trample and stare...
Thanks for the loving looks and your fine grace.....
Most of all, thanks for everything!
Words cannot say what the heart wants to say,
And all I know is this:
No one else can surpass the love you gave us all....
Paalam, Kaibigan,
Paalam Kaibigan,
Paalam,

'KAINIS!!

I went shopping forsome groceries late this afternoon.
I was just backing up the car when I heard a thud....
I looked at my side mirror and I saw
some roughly-made posts that separates Jiji's property
from our immediate neighbor:a Lola who
is fond of making paraphernalia in- and around- her house.
Lolo said: "Don't mind it; just go on..."
I can't and was about to alight from the car;
He gestured and instead, he did.
I bumped that Lola's post!
Later, upon arriving, I inspected the rear, and lo!
My left-hand bumper
has a small dent and some scratches!!
Grrrrrr.......
Lolo assured me not to worry.....
Kotse lang daw yun!
Pede ba yun?
Naiinis ako kay C today!

I'm BACK!

HELLO Bloggers!
I'M BACK!
After spending two long, hot summer days in Inang Bayan,
I came back to where I have resided for the past 15 years.....
to work, that is......
I took PAL, this time,
kasi may PROMO sila....
heheheh....
Imagine PAL is selling 340 US$+
103US$ tax
as against JAL's
which can reach up to 600US$!!
I thought, para naman makatipid,
why not?
OKs din ang service nila,
but JAL remains a few notches up,
I must say....
So, eto na naman ako,
in the Land of the Rising Sun
to work a little, and to
teach a little
and spend some days
trying to make
my small garden look decent again!
The rains have made
the grass grow faster
and the once-nice looking garden
became a jungle of sorts.
No one, it seems,
took care of it.
And my small pots inside the house!
Tuyo lahat!
Oh well,
I can't blame others,
can't I?
After all, it was I
who went on an unscheduled bakasyon...
I wasn't able to blog while in MManila,
so let's see......
anu-ano na ba ang nabago sa
mundo ng mga bloggers?
It appears that I have a lot to read...

THE SUN RISES IN MY HEART

Clouds may come, storms may flash me out;
But deep in my heart, I know it'll pass.
Far beyond hurt, my mind is all set
I'll do it alone and walk Life's roads my way.
*
Rains keep coming; twisters may swoosh,
Funny how I still find myself....standing tall;
I ask for nothing, I've got everything:
I find Life great: I find it beyond compare!
**
Before bed I wonder, and often ask myself:
What happens beyond tomorrow?
When all have been here and there?
God lulls me to sleep and always wake up ready and refreshed.
***
So now I won't ask, neither would I complain:

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

FROM MY MAILBOX:
(THIS IS NOT A JOKE!)
*
Women should know that not every heart attack symptom
is going to be the left arm hurting.
Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
The pain in the jaw happened to me and woke me from a sound sleep.
I was one of the fortunate ones.
Trust me when I tell you it's pain unlike anything you've ever experienced before.
Given a choice between natural child birthand a heart attack, pain-wise;
it's much easier to have a baby.
**
Let's be careful and be aware.
The more we know the better chance we could survive.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people,
you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.
Read this... It could save your life!!
***
Let's say it's 6:15pm and you're driving home (alone of course),
after an unusually hard day on the job.
You're tired, upset and frustrated.
Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest
that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw.
You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.
Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.
You have been trained in CPR,
but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
****
"HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE":
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack,
without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,
has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves
by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.
A deep breath should be taken before each cough,
and the cough must be deep and prolonged,
as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.
A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds
without let-up until help arrives,
or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and
coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.
The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.
In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

EVEN JUST FOR TODAY!

The sky seems to say: "Don't go, for someone will cry!"
But my heart says: "Go,.... and see....where reasons lie."
-
I don't know.
*
I can't finish my chores:
So many are left: like changing Jiji's spring clothes from his winter ones.
It's going to be warm soonand I know he'd have a hard time looking in hiscloset.
He never visit that nowadays, anyway.
**
This past year, Jiji has grown dependent on someone
[that's I, me and myself, of course!]
to clear things for him.
Nowadays he has only to ask for something and know
that it would be delivered to him
pronto!
***
And today, like yesterday, the good ol' SUN does not seem to cooperate.
It's cloudy with intermittent rainshowers.....
How can I finish all these chores, then?
I have buckets and buckets of laundry to do.
Added to that, I need to air the beddings before I keep them for next winter.....
Grrr......
****
Today, I need to stay at home and make it convenient for Jiji while I am away.
He is such a baby!
He leaves everything as is: para bang nag-skin ang snake!
Kung saan hinubad, dun na lang iiwan!
Kailangang may taga-sunod na magliligpit lagi!
Naku!

*****
Tomorrow, I need to procure some last-minute buys
and pack them all in a jiffy.
I need to be ready for the ride to
HAMAMATSU EKI [HAMAMATSU STATION]
when the Driver comes at half-past eleven.
******
Oh well.....I guess I have to stay home and keep house
even just for today!

GOING BANANAS?

Oftentimes, we snob BANANAs in our daily lives,
but did you know that BANANAs are simply great?
Read on>.......

A BANANA contains three natural sugars:
SUCROSE, FRUCTOSE and GLUCOSE combined with FIBER,
Bananas can give INSTANT,SUSTANED AND
SUNSTANTIAL BOOST OF ENERGY.
Research have proven that just two Bananas provide enough energy
for a strenous 90-minute workout.
No wonder, the Banana is the number one fruit
with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a Banana can help us stay fit.
It can also help overcome or prevent
a substantial number of illnesses and conditions,
making it a MUST TO- add to our daily diet.
  1. DEPRESSION: According to a recent survey undertaken by MINDamongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a Banana. This is because Bananas contain TRYPTOPHAN, a type of protein that the body converts into SEROTONIN, known to make you relax, improve your mood, and generally make you feel happier.
  2. PMS [PRE-MENSTRUAL SYNDROME]: Forget the pills-Eat a Banana! It contains Vitamin B6 that regulates Blood Glucose Levels, which can affect your mood.
  3. ANEMIA: High in IRON, Bananas can stimulate the production of Haemoglobin in the blood and so helps cases of Anemia.
  4. BLOOD PRESSURE: this unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium, yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat Blood Pressure. So much so, that the US Food and Drug Administration have just allowed the Banana Industryto make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of Blood Pressure and stroke.
  5. BRAIN POWER: 200 students at a Twickenham[Middlesex] school were helped through their exams last year by eating Bananas at breakfast, break and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power.Research has shown that the potassium-pcked fruit can assist learning by making more pupils more alert.
  6. CONSTIPATION: High in fiber, including Bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
  7. HANGOVERS,
  8. HEARTBURNS,
  9. MORNING SICKNESS,
  10. MOSQUITO BITES,
  11. WARTS,
  12. NERVES,
  13. ULCERS,
  14. STRESS...>>>>> you name it, Bananas can cure it!So a Banana really is a ntural remedy for many ills.WHEN YOU COMPARE IT WITH APPLES, IT HAS FOUR TIMES THE PROTEIN,TWICE THE CARBOHYDRATES,THREE TIMES THE PHOSPOROUS,FIVE TIMES THE VITAMIN A AND IRON, and TWICE THE OTHER VITAMINS and MINERALS. So maybe, it is time to change that well-known phrase and say:" A BANANA A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY." --------------------

ALARM, ALARMED, ALARMING

It is unfortunate that the country is now in shambles.
The supposed head of State refuses
to budge out of her comfortable seat by the Pasig.
Two events have added fuel to her uneasiness:
that NYT editorial which calls for the 'King' to warn his 'subject'
and yesterday, the CBCP's call to discern the Cha-Cha launched by the administration.
I say: WHY ONLY NOW? for the first.....
and for the second: WHY THE HASTE?
******
  • WHO is alarmed by all these?
  • WHO is afraid of being shoved out of bed?
  • WHO is answerable for so many brushes with the Law?

SHE DOES NOT NEED TO DO A Thaksin

ALL SHE HAS TO DO IS LISTEN TO GOD!
It has been in all corners of Pinas:
Calls for the resignation of Ate glue
has been persistent these last few months.
Unfortunately, ate glue is hard of hearing....
or is it hard of heart?
.....or the lack of all of the above?
I have been wondering:
WHY ask her to resign,
when SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE
LEGAL CAPACITY TO SIT AS PRESIDENT?
SHE NEED NOT RESIGN.....
SHE NEEDS TO VACATE THE POSITION
SHE ILLEGALLY OBTAINED
VIA QUESTIONABLE MEANS.....
ASAP!
DI BA NGA?
Dapat lang!

WORK and PLEASURE

UNLIKE yesterday, today promises to be grand,
with the SUN shining brightly from the East.
My bedroom windows face the East and the South,
thus, makes for the best place in my small abode.
I always like to savor the sunshine in the morning,
and as I open the window shutters,
I am always greetd with the glorious Sun.
I like that feeling!
TODAY, I have to go and reserve a seat for the Airport Limousine Bus
that would take me to CHUBU [NagoyaInternational Airport]
on the day before my trip next week.
I also have to reserve a hotel room for one night prior to my flight.
JAL flies early, unlike NWA....and, likewise, arrives early.
Actually, under the scorching midday sun in MManila: 12:50 PM!
THE BBox left here are half-way filled.
I need to send it, too,if I want to clear the mess that it has made in my area.
Jiji wouldn't want to see those, I'm sure.
I have to fill it up before Wednesday next week,
if I want it to reach MManila before the end of April.
ALL things set, I believe I am ready for a month or two of relaxation
AND.....work.
Oh well,
THAT work is recruiting Trainees in different parts of the Archipelago!
I have to be there when the Bosses arrive for the Interviews.....
Bale, interpreter kuno!
After which, I am free to be on my own!
Isn't it nice to combine work with pleasure?

IT HURTS, BUT TRUE!

I had the opportunity to hear some views of both
Japanese and Pinoy businessmen in a meeting lately:
Their views?
Read on.
  • 1. "In Japan, they build small and simple housesbut big factories. In the Philippines, they build big and grand housesbut small and few factories."
  • 2."In Japan, the Owner of a big Construction companyrides on ordinary train and commutes to work!"In the Philippines, the Boss rides on a chauffered car [even if the car is just a Corolla!] with two or three bodyguards to boot;
  • 3. "In Japan, the Owner eats in the same mess hall the Company built for its employees." In the Philippines, the Owner eats in exclusive restaurant,even during Lunch breaks;
  • 4."In Japan, the wife of the Owner is often seen in the Supermarketin the evening, just after 5PM to get the best buy [fresh commodities are sold half their price after 5PM]!!!" In the Philippines, the wife of the Owner maintains a coterie of muchachas to attend to her whims;
  • 5."In Japan, no one is seen on the roads except those commuting towork or to the fields; In the Philippines, people stay outside, near the roads, doing nothing, as if waiting for something; iow, tambay..."
  • 6. "In Japan, people walk to school: students are required to walk to build stronger bodies and stamina; The only ones allowed to ride bicycles are Senior HS students. In the Philippines, merong bus/jeepney/tricycle service:hatid-sundo and rich kids are often accompanied by Yayaswho also serve as taga-buhat ng bag at tagaligpit ng kianinan....who wait inside the Campus all-day-long."
  • Bakit nga ba?

Give us THAT gift, ate glue.....

NEWS item: Birthday wishes for GMA pour in.
Oh well, Pidal led the greetings,
followed closely by her daughter....
the tutas and all those amuyongs.
So on and so forth!
WELL, I, too, have a Birthday wish for ate glue:
I hope she opens her heart and step down calmly from
Malacanang by the Pasig.
Matanda ka na, kaya kailangang isipin mo
kung ano ang magiging buhay mo pagkatapos ng false tenure mo....
Will you be remembered as a true Pinoy?
OR
will your name be forever cursed?
So, what now, ate glue?
Pray, do tell!
The nation is waiting......
Don't let the people down.
