THAIs are BETTER!

This is much worse than
MARTIAL LAW
itself!
Dinky Soliman and Mr. Romano
were nabbed by the PNP
[siyempre! order sa itaas yun, noh!?]
at a protest rally near the Baywalk.
Pinahuli ni Atienza?
=ang tutang tunay ni ate glue?=
Aba'y LAHAT NG MASASAMA,
MAY KATAPUSAN PO,
KUNG HINDI NYO ALAM!

LOOKING FO FREEDOM

I often encounter people who, at first, would talk to me,
yet, after sensing my stand would, stay out of contact
becoz I don't share their political color.
I don't give a damn, anyway....
*
But their actions make me realize how 'makitid'some minds could be!
I remember a friend from way, way back: Emy.
She, whose idol was marcos the dictator,
never ran out of praise for the fallen manipulator.
I always say what I feel,
even if I have to defend the minority or
the least popular sentiment at any given time.
OH yes!
we argued a lot,
but still manage to exchange ideas and pleasantries [not faked, ha?].
Those around us were always at awe and often commented:
'How can you both do that?'
You see, Emy and I share exactly the same ideas on everything, except politics!
And I have my deepest respect for her despite that one gap.
That didn't stop me from shunning her,
or condemning her when news came out that she was some General's mistress.
That, is her personal choice.
Over all, she is OK by me....
**
"What a person believes, and thinks, can never be a crime:
Otherwise our prisons would be filled with novelists and essayists
who express the darkest, the harshest and, often, the bloodiest, thoughts
concerning our society. Jose Rizal was thrown into prison
for revealing what he believed to be the country's "social cancer.""
......so writes my favorite columnist.
I wholeheartedly agree.
***
Curtailing one's speech and the way people think is not only a crime in a free country.
It's preposterous to do so!
Gone were the olden days when the word of the Monarch was Law
and everyone else MUST follow!
RAIDING The Daily Tribune, a newspaper office amidst the illegal 1017
patterned, no....lifted word-for-word from the dead dictator's 1081,
is a blunder ate glue made.
I refuse to call her Madam President
becoz there is a hanging sword of Damocles in her 'winning'the 2004 elections.
To me she is trying to GLUE herself by the Pasig,
despite the illegitimacy!
****
These days, despite the lifting of 1017, the offices of the PCIJ,an independent newsdesk
whose only fault was to make available online the 'Hello Garci' tapes
are threatened by the powers-that-be.
Some magic is waiting at the wings for this honest reporters
whose idealism are not lost despite the harassment and the threats
that befall journalists in this country.

Ang sa akin kasi,
==>dalawa lang ang pagpipilian:ANG TAMA 0 MALI.
==>dalawa lang ang lugar:LANGIT 0 IMPIYERNO.

Hmmm....
Malapit na ang simula ng katapusan?
Ang tagal naman!
*
'nga pala, nalaman ko yun
mula sa aking kakilala,
sina ginoo at ginang jose pidal!
AWOOOOOOO!

I NEVER TELL A LIE....

"I DID IT WITH MY LITTLE HATCHET." -Abe Lincoln
I remember that from years past....when some Akela Leaders
would tell us stories as we gathered around the Campfire.
I remember those lines today as I encountered another unbelievable glimpse
into the heart of one compatriot
who denied she said what she said!
Goodness, goodness!
*
The meeting started at 5 with all five Trainees in attendance.
They were also asked to sign their names for the BankAccount
to be opened by the Company for them.Yung savings nila[50%],
will automatically be deducted sa monthly pay and deposited into their accounts.
Para bang forced savings.....so that when they go back home after 3 years,
siguradong may ipon sila.OK, di ba?
Blah-blah-blah---et cetera...and we ended up past 6:30PM.
**
What shocked me most was the reaction of the leader, J.
She denied saying some lines when I quoted her....
Oh me goodness!
I seldom forget the idiosyncracies of my students
no matter how many they are in a class.
I can hardly believe that such a person exist!
I mean, really, really exist!
When she repeatedly denied it, I just smiled and said, "OK, Forget it!"
Unbelievable!
Later, after the meeting, she came to me and in front of everyone else, said,
"Sorry, Ma'am C.,I really forgot about that.
I don't remember that incident."
She hugged me and I tried to fend it off [as nicely as I could ]
coz I never want to be hugged by such dirty-hearted person!
Kadiri!
Oh well!
I said "I'll never talk to you anymore.Nakakatakot ka pala...
You easily forget everything thing you say!
I don't!"
Too late for me, but here's A Lesson in Life for Cory:
"NEVER TRUST ANYONE
TO OWN UP ANYTHING THEY SAY OR PROMISE!"
lest I be frustrated later on.....
Whewww!
***

TRUST

I still can't believe that a woman in her mid-thirties [35] can tell a lie!
How can that be?
Unbelievable!!!::::> in my own lil world.....
*
But I wanna thank her next time:
she made me take a glimpse inside the bowels of her being!
**
Maybe it's because I've been lucky to have found incredibly good friends
that I forgot to see the "other side" of people.
***
Of course, people have different windows to show others.
There are windows we want others to see of us,
and there are true windows with which we see of ourselves.
Sometimes, people project differently from their true selves.
I wonder why they do that.
****
As for myself: WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET!
Walang tago-tago: I can be read quite easily.
One can 'read' me via my eyes, my actions and my words,Tatay once said.
*****
Was I a fool, then?
A fool becoz I believed what someone told me,
only to deny it later to make me look like someone who can't be trusted!
Sa harap pa ng Plant Manager?
******
ALL my life, I have followed rules set by my parents
because I believed and loved them.
I respect my parents so much that I am grateful even now,
for the values they have instilled in me.
In a sense, I have established a no-nonsense reputation
as someone to be trusted.
My friends say so, my kamag-anaks say so,
Lolo says so, everybody else say so....
except that Kababayan who denied what she said!
Maybe she was out to discredit mein front of the Boss.
Maybe she wanted me out of her way....
Possible!
******
Siya kasi ang lider ng Group 1 na laging maraming reklamo sa mga Bosses;
and more....
ALL these were reported by her members.
I saw most of them, as well.
Nothing escapes my eagle eyes, you know....
******
Calculated moves ba yung denial nya?
Hmmm.... Nakakatakot ang ganitong kasama!
Traydor ang ganito!
I would rather be with a simple-minded one
but whose heart is clean and pure...

Tyrant's Style:::::: ate glue's, too?

"A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion.
Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler
whom they consider god-fearing and pious.
On the other hand, they do less easily move against him,
believing that he has the gods on his side."
******
.

Ano ba, ate glue?

Sabi ni ate glue,
"God placed me here.."

Naku....she's violating Commandment #2!
She has invoked the names of people and God, himself
many times over.

Remember when she said the late Pope John Paul 2
said something about her and Pilipinas?
How many times will she drop names?
Grabe na ngayon: she is using God
to justify her evil plans.

Furthermore, ate glue said:
"I am the best person to lead..."

What!?
Ininsulto na naman ang utak ng Bayan!

Meaning?
Siya lang ang may kapasidad-mental
para pasulungin sa Kaunlaran ang Bayang Magiliw?

Naman, naman!

but he that thinks himself the wisest

HARU- ICHIBAN

Today,the calendar marks HARU-ICHIBAN
HARU-means Spring and ICHIBAN means numebr 1.
This means that the first gusts of wind
that heralds the entrance of Spring is here.
All over Japan, cold gusty winds were felt.
Rainshowers also were noted,
makin g the mercury drop to chilly temperature.
Although it is officially Spring,
thick jackets are still very much in use.
We can't send them yet to the cleaners....
Not yet, anyway...

WORK

"Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction."
----Anne Frank
....
"Going to work for a large company is like getting on a train.
Are you going sixty miles an hour or is the train going sixty miles an hour
and you're just sitting still?"
----J. Paul Getty
....
There are more and more words of wisdom
to guide ordinary mortals like us,
but it is us who will make the final decision.
We have to decide for ourselves which way we go.
*
I work for several companies here.
Three, to be exact.
My employers know that I have to keep my schedule open:
I have special classes to attend to, that's why.
Besides, I go home to Inang Bayan
several times a year.
I also join travel tours once in a while.
**
I hate being tied down at the workplace.
I can't work 8-5;
Hence, they consult via the celfone.
[They issued me one...]
On times when there is a need to be at meetings,
they inform me beforehand and I go attend them.
Otherwise, my sked stays.
I can even reaarange the sked to accomodate my 'bakasyon',
if ever I want to go into one.....
I am supposed to be with the Trainees to guide them on weekends,
or on days when they are off-work.
For me, it's great!
I don't get to be alone on weekends anymore.
The only problem is dividing my weekend among them.
***
Some say I get fantastic arrangements with the Companies I work with.
Hmm...maybe....
But the reason I accepted the job was obvious right from the start:
I will have to GUIDE Pinay workers on their first year here.....
For me, that is quite satisfying.
To be able to impart some good things to newcomers
and/or to be able to show them the way
is something no amount of money could ever equal.
As I told the trainees during their graduation from Training:
"Baguhin natin ang impresyon ng mga Hapon sa ating mga Pinay!"
****
Aside from that, I have three SHA-CHOs[Company Bosses]under my wing.
They are into EIKAIWA[EnglishConversation] lessons once a week.
Siyempre, IBA ang bayad dito, noh!
Added to that, the three Shizuoka-Daigaku [ShizuokaUniversity] students
who have been under my care for two years now,
have been getting better as the days go by....
plus those kids who come to my place for 45-minute-lessons......
*****
It is hard work, mind you...but worth it.
I have to be at one place one hour,
and another Company the next...
.while answering the calls made by a Company Owner who may be prantic
becoz one Trainee is sick!
The calls find their way till the wee hours of the night!
******
Perhaps, it is safe to say that I am enjoying my work
for the first time in two years...
::::not only does the paymake my bankbook growing....
it also makes my heart leap with joy
everytime!

DOLL FESTIVAL

HINA MATSURI
HINA means DOLL;
It also pertains to YOUNG GIRLS.
While MATSURI means FESTIVAL.
Today, March 3, is just that: HINA MATSURI.
It's the day for young girls who receive dolls
dressed in typical Japanese garments.
*
This Matsuri takes its roots from China,
which celebrate the day for Girls several weeks after the Lunar New Year.
**
Grandparents and/or parents buy dolls
for their granddaughter/daughter.
The price range from several thousand Yen to
hundreds of thousand Yen,
depending on who made it,
or the type and size of the Dolls.
Usually, they come in pairs.
They come in glass casings and elegantly dressed.
**
I remember receiving my set from my parents a long time ago.
I still keep mine in MonteBello.
***
Young girls are brought to Temples since last Sunday.
Most families dine out and
celebrate having a girl in the family.
The Boys also have theirs in early May...
and has since been part
of what the Japanese call
the "Golden Week"....>>>>
but that, my dear, is for another day.

WORK

HI-HO! Hi-ho!........
so off to work I go....
*
Some people detest the very means which provide them their meals!
They just wait and wait and do nothing to while away time.
Some remain idle that they grow impatient
as they look at the wall clock slowly ticking....
THAT, is something I cannot fathom.
Maybe its becoz I enjoy what I do.
**
Being contented and satisfied with what we do
has a lot to do with our state of mind,
thus, our total well-being.
***
Some work may not pay us that much,
but its the satisfaction I get that matters most.
I enjoy sharing what I know,
no matter how minute it may be.
I love to see the kids' [& the Trainees'] eyes light up
every time learning takes place.
To be able to impart something to others
is one feeling that keeps my adrenalin surging....
It gives me an all-time high!
Much, much better than a body massage
or a reflex foot therapy session!
